NEW 1PC AD 8307 Wideband RF Detector RF Power Meter Field Strength Meter
The AD8307 is the first logarithmic amplifier in an 8-pin (SOIC_N) package. It is a complete 500 MHz single-chip detector logarithmic amplifier based on progressive compression (continuous detection) technology that provides 92 dB (± 3 dB error) and 88 dB (± 1 dB error) at all frequencies up to 100 MHz Sector) of the dynamic range. The AD8307 is very stable and easy to use, eliminating the need for a large number of external devices. The AD8307 operates from a single 2.7 V to 5.5 V supply with a supply current of 7.5 mA and a power consumption of only 22.5 mW at 3 V. The fast CMOS compatible control pin can disable the AD8307 with a standby current of less than 150 μA.
Each cascaded amplifier / limiter unit has a small signal gain of 14.3 dB and a -3 dB bandwidth of 900 MHz. The device supports full differential input and has a modest high impedance (1.1 kΩ parallel resistance with a capacitance of approximately 1.4 pF). The AD8307 provides a basic dynamic range from approximately -75 dBm (where dBm refers to a 50 Ω signal source, ie sinusoidal amplitude of approximately ± 56 μV) to +17 dBm (sinusoidal amplitude ± 2.2 V). A simple input matching network can reduce this range to -88 dBm to +3 dBm. In the middle of this range, up to 100 MHz, the logarithmic linearity is within ± 0.3 dB (typ) and drops slightly at 500 MHz. The AD8307 has no minimum frequency limit and can be used for audio frequencies of 20 Hz or less.
A rated current of 2 μA / dB produces an output voltage through a 12.5 kΩ internal resistor with a slope of 25 mV / dB. The voltage range can be from 0.25 dB at -74 dBm input (ie, 20 μV rms sinusoidal input, AC cut-point -84 dBm) to +2 dB at +16 dBm input. The slope and cutout can be fine-tuned with an external regulator. For example, when using a 2.7 V power supply, the output slope can be reduced to 15 mV / dB, allowing the entire dynamic range to be used.
When the parameters change, AD8307 has excellent power non-sensitive and temperature stability. The device achieves the perfect combination of low cost, small size, low power, high accuracy and high stability, extremely wide dynamic range, and frequency range from IF to UHF audio, which is suitable for reducing the signal to dB Value of the various applications.
The AD8307 operates from an industrial temperature range of -40 ° C to + 85 ° C in an 8-lead SOIC package and PDIP package.
